Implemented by the Accra Digital Centre (ADC)
GODEP is implemented by the Accra Digital Centre (ADC); a Government of Ghana ICT/BPO Centre or mini Technology Park, under the Ministry of Communications, set up to harness the digital potential of Ghana by promoting Digital entrepreneurship and creation of digital and ancillary jobs for the youth by hosting and incubating Tech firms and Digital Start-ups.
The Centre has a blend of infrastructure, support services and programs that have been carefully designed to create a conducive ecosystem for digital innovation and entrepreneurship in Ghana.
The Centre is driving the ICT and ITES/BPO industry by providing companies and entrepreneurs with affordable office space and other facilities to enable them grow. The Centre’s parent company is Ghana Digital Centres Limited, registered under the Ministry of Communications as a Limited Liability Company wholly owned by the Government of Ghana.
The Accra Digital Centre has attracted program support from the World Bank, the Rockefeller Foundation and the German Development agency GIZ among others with successful outcomes in providing an enabling environment where digital enterprises have been birthed and have thrived. Currently the CENTRE is home to numerous tech startups, the iHub (innovation hub) where mobile innovation and creativity is nurtured and launched in a space that offers co-working spaces and virtual offices and the mLab - a mobile applications lab that is nurturing and incubating the next wave of world class mobile app ideas.
The implementation of the Ghana Oracle Digital Enterprise Program starts with a six (6) city pitch competition to select the best of breed digital entrepreneurs with scalable ideas and startups at various stages with the successful pitches entering the program for a period of two years. During the two year incubation period, the startup will receive world class virtual and onsite mentoring and coaching, support to turn ideas into problem-solving and job creating digital enterprises.
The Accra Digital Centre will provide leadership and coordination for selected hubs across the country to ensure that at every turn there’s ready support for all on the program to ensure their success.
The pitch competitions will be held between April and June every year in Accra, Ho, Tamale, Kumasi, Sunyani and Takoradi with up to 500 startups being selected into GODEP.
